Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 bell peppers, chopped (any colors)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup cooked rice
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in onion and bell peppers. Cook 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, pepper, and salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes.
- Stir in cooked rice and simmer 5 more minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
