Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
Slices of ham
Slices of cheese (like cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional: fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley)
Instructions:
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Lay out the puff pastry on a flat surface.
Brush it lightly with a beaten egg (this helps seal and gives a golden color when baked).
Layer the Fillings:
Place slices of ham evenly across the pastry.
Place a slice of cheese on top of each ham slice.
Roll It Up:
Carefully roll the puff pastry from one edge into a tight log, just like a jelly roll.
Slice:
Slice the rolled pastry into 1 to 1.5 inch thick rounds.
Bake:
Place the slices flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Optionally, brush the tops with more egg wash.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 15–20 minutes, or until golden and puffed up.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Serve warm!~
