Fried Sliced Mushrooms with Ranch Dip


**Ingredients:

*For the Fried Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 2 large eggs
  • 5/16 cup milk (or ~5 tbsp)
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

*For the Ranch Dip:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp powdered garlic

**Directions:

  1. Prep the Mushrooms: Slice mushrooms and pat them dry.
  2. Make the Breading: In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Wet Mix: In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk.
  4. Dip & Coat: Dip each mushroom slice in the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry mushrooms in batches until golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Make Ranch Dip: Combine mayo, sour cream, dill, parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth.
  7. Serve: Serve mushrooms hot with ranch dip on the side.
