Easy French Onion Soup – Don not LOSE this Recipe

Ingredients

  • Butter
    • Quantity: 4 tablespoons
    • Notes: Used to saute onion till it turns transparent.
  • Campbells Condensed beef broth
    • Quantity: 1 can
  • Campbell beef consume
    • Quantity: 1 can
  • Water
    • Quantity: 1 soup can
  • Red wine or Marsala
    • Quantity: 1 soup can
  • Vidalia onions
    • Quantity: sliced thinly 4 large Vidalia onions.
    • Notes: Slice thinly for proper caramelization.
  • Garlic cloves
    • Quantity: 3 or 4 garlic cloves
  • Bay leaf
    • Quantity: 2 bay leaf (taken out prior to serving)
  • French bread
    • Quantity: Toasted French bread slices.
  • Gruyere cheese
    • Quantity: Gruyere cheese slices

Directions For French Onion Soup

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan and saute onion till it turns transparent.
  2. Add all liquid, garlic and bay leaf to big size pot with onion.
  3. Simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Do not boil!
  5. Half toasted bread in crock serve and melt cheese at the top under broiler (do not burn).
